Stourhead Autumn Display

The picture I've used for today is an HDR fresh out of the camera, but in truth the colours didn't need any help. I just like this version because it looks so painted, like Turner was having a very good day... some of the others made it to the Flickr album. If it hadn't been this one, it would be the extra. I love this. Hope you do too! We came across this lake on the way back from Stourhead, near the Longleat safari park.

Stourhead is very worth a visit right now for all the colour, but oh my the chaos in the parking area. One totally overwhelmed National Trust staff member was trying to direct cars onto a waterlogged overflow field where no-one was finding traction and cars were slipping all over the place. I anticipate many cars needed towing off the site when they tried to leave. We tossed a quick and imaginary coin and decided to drive through the pedestrian area to a clear section of gravelled car park apparently overlooked by the team.
