Once more unto the breach...

Back to the Opera House this evening, following the disaster that was Saturday night. It's probably best to get back in the saddle quite quickly, otherwise you could be put off culture for ever...

It was ballet this evening. Swan Lake, to be exact, performed by the Birmingham Royal Ballet. And very, very excellent it was too. If Turandot was the worst thing we've ever seen at the Opera House, this evening's production might well be the best. Stunning - and in a good way this time.

The music was great, the dancing brilliant (not that I really know much about ballet, but it looked really good to me) and the costumes were simply amazing.

The picture is from my nervous wait outside, frantically clock-watching while Mme Tepeka took a very leisurely journey into town on a bus. We made it inside just as they were closing the doors.

It's lucky she made it. Tonight would have been a shame to miss.
