Beggars Belief Coffee Cove, Portsoy

We had a lovely clear dawn and a sunny morning in Sandend, but surprisingly as we reached Portsoy in the bus the pesky haar seemed to roll in from the land rather than from the sea on a SE wind.
The temperature dropped immediately and we sought refuge down at the shore in the Beggars Belief Coffee Cove, a café built into the rocks and used once upon a time for smuggling. Hence the welcoming pirate at the entrance.
The seating areas were the nooks and crannies in the rock and very atmospheric.

The owner asked us if we had seen the Northern Lights the other night..........oh no!. We had indeed missed them as they had been earlier than expected.....doh!

Although the haar was variable and the sun did appear half heartedly, we journeyed back to Cullen so that His Lordship could explore the antique centre.
I was delighted to find a bone eggspoon to match the one from my grandmother that I already have. Result!

Now we are killing time until we can justify a glass of wine, but it won't be on the patio today, I'm afraid.
