The Hitchhiker

This isn’t my best shot but it is the only shot I have ever taken of a Kingfisher so I was thrilled.  I went into the park to catch the late afternoon sun on this gorgeous day, and I heard it before I saw it.  They are quite noisy.  Of course, I thought I was going for pond and gazebo shots so I didn’t have the right lens.  It wouldn’t let me get close so this is taken across the pond and is heavily cropped.  This is a Belted Kingfisher.
