Table With A View

What more relaxing spot could you wish for than a restaurant table overlooking the water.
I spent time working at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club today and this is a view that is one of the reasons for which I joined the Club many years ago.
At that time I always felt entranced by this outlook and although many things have changed over the years, I must say that I still find this view enchanting. There’s always some activity going on in the Ocean Village marina, even this time of year.
There are other restaurants and bars in the marina village, but nothing quite matches the enviable view you get from this dining room. Perhaps that is one of the most important benefits you get by being a member. It is true that sailing in one form or another is the prime interest of members, but you don’t necessarily need to be a sailor, nor own a boat, to enjoy this facility.
Small wonder that the waterfront clubhouse is in demand for private functions and business meetings and it is licensed for weddings and civil partnerships.
But then I was at Ocean Village today to gather photographs and words in preparation for fast approaching deadlines  for end of year publications for members.

A view like this should be inspiring, but one thing is for sure, it’s also distracting when you should be slaving over a hot computer keyboard!
