Marjorie's ramblings

"Temporarily misplaced"!

This is a phrase that we occasionally employ in the walking group when we are "temporarily misplaced", have made a mistake in navigation.

Today, despite the dire weather forecast, Tony, Ann, George and I set off to check the viability of a route in the North Pennines. Harry's friends, Heather and Pete, were with us all the way. It rained heavily and the wind, blowing from the south, was strong. Thankfully it was not too cold!

We set off over rough, boggy moorland and made slow progress. All went well for a while, until we found ourselves following a wall which took us round and back on ourselves. In the mist and rain it was almost impossible to see.  We abandoned the recce and made it back to our cars.

As you can see, we remained cheerful - although this is when we were back at the cars!!

The extra is my attempt at a group selfie at the end. It was pouring and the camera was wet and I thought you might like to see it.

Have you all got the Heather and Pete joke? Hope so. (Sorry - it's Harry's joke really.)

When I came home, Mum had managed to remove a gold signet ring from her right ring finger. We expected that the ring would have to be cut off before surgery. My maternal grandparents bought it for Mum when she qualified as a teacher and she has never taken it off. It's now on my right ring finger. You can just see the M from IGMc.
