Fungus spiral

I was out this afternoon putting up posters for Santa's visit to the garden when I saw this lovely spiral of fungus on a tree stump. I thought I'd stop on the way home to take a picture, but when I returned it was dark.

I didn't have much time so it was taken in a flash!

My extra picture is of the Highland coos in the field outside the garden, up to their knees in mud!
