Old

As I was leaving work, my thoughts turned to today's blip. 'Old'? Across the road I saw the statue to commemorate Ludwig Guttman, a German Jew that fled Nazi Germany for obvious reasons. Their loss was definitely our gain. He was the founder and director of the National Spinal Injuries Centre and pretty much transformed life expectancy for people with a spinal cord injury. He used sport as a rehab tool and the competitions that he set up went on to become the Paralympics. This old guy certainly deserves to be remembered.
