Close to Shore

5.2C starting frosty then rain all morning. Dry afternoon, but grey and dull. Light breeze.

The Irish family history research is hitting brick walls already. As expected.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk after lunch and when the rain had gone off. Runrig on the Nano (all of the albums on shuffle). We went down the road to the shore road then went over the road bridge over the railway to the beach at Westhaven. The tide was on its way out. Valhalla A was moored close to shore in a place I haven't seen it before and almost seemed to be drifting out on a long mooring rope. The dinghy was lying at the water's edge so perhaps the skipper had walked up the beach to get the tractor. I couldn't see him but he could have been up at the fishermen's huts.

We wandered along the beach towards Carnoustie, then went up to join the path so we could walk along to the golf courses. We turned up by the first tee of the Championship course and crossed the road by Simpson's golf shop to go up to the High Street and make our way back along to rejoin our usual route home.
