Light

4.1C starting frosty and really never getting warmer. Sunny sunshine. Zephyr.

This morning I started to have a look at some Irish family history research. I doubt I will make much/any headway but one of the Irish government websites might have some new records released and it is always worth a try.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk after lunch. Runrig on the Nano (all of the albums on shuffle). We went up to the church and carried on out the road towards Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. The track was frozen today. The air was clear and bright, the only clouds were on the horizon, and it was good to be out in the light !

Runrig ... Running to the Light

Running round the sacred mountain
The rushing stream
Feel the power
In everything
By the water. where the air is clear
Surrender everything

Old hearts grow younger again
They promise bring
The greenest. plants are tender
They're full of sap in spring
Empty the places of the mind
Running to the light
Running to the light

Those who stride too far too soon
Will not hold pace
Only the calm
Will win the race
Through the forest, the sea of mountain pine
Surrender everything

Only those who
Greatness see in little things
Worthy are the simple
They're happy in their ways
Self will wither out of sight
Running to the light
Running to the light

Arise soul
Soar above the singing river
Go lying down
Into the ground
Quickened by the stream
When all is said and done
The race moves on

Running, running

Rory MacDonald, Calum MacDonald

We came back along the cycle path then we carried on round in a long loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home. There was a tractor ploughing in one of the fields near the last turn we make before reaching home.
