Life's Little Moments

Finch Photobomber

It was another rainy, gloomy day, definitely not ideal for outdoor photography.  I actually took this from just inside the door facing the cherry tree - the two male house finches were perched side by side on the cherry tree, making what might have been a nice shot.  Just as I depressed the shutter, a finch-fight broke out and the third shot in the series was this one.  Pretty noisy image, not helped by the rain - but I thought it was interesting as it captures some of the aggressiveness of these little birds.  So, there you have it - today's "one photo".

And if that's not enough, I posted another one of a wet nuthatch, here.

Charlie seems to be doing okay, all things considered.  We got some pain meds and prescription kidney-diet food from the vet last night.  The pain meds make him lethargic and he seems not to like the food.  (Although Phoebe likes it very much.  Sigh.)   The results of the urine culture will be back sometime tomorrow, so then at least we will know how to proceed with treatment.  In the meantime, I'm trying to get the little guy to eat and drink more.  He still wants to play and cuddle and aside from the lack of eating/drinking, he is acting like a normal 4 year old cat.  Keep the good thoughts coming, please.

Hubs is leaving sometime tomorrow morning, headed for AL.  It will take him about 16 hours to get there, give or take a few.  Wish I was able to go with him, but hopefully next time.

Now, would someone please turn the rain OFF?

PS:  as a note to myself, I sent the D750 to Nikon yesterday - the shutter is getting stuck after any period of inactivity.  It's still under warranty, so all repairs should be covered.
