Hanging on to their leaves

Last night our camera group was great fun - we all took delicious snacks and spent the first 15 minutes eating and drinking to celebrate Christmas. We then finished our term's work on portraits by looking at how Portrait Pro works and discussed the ethics of over manipulated images. We ended up with a photography quiz in which my partner and I got second prize - we each got a massive 'purple one' (those Quality Street sweets).

Some of the trees around here are desperately hanging on to their leaves - these trees are still well covered. It is dull today and nothing inspired me photographically-speaking, so I did not take many photos today as I have to crack on with wrapping Christmas presents before the end of term when the boys will be home.

So Britain is at war - the first Syrian air strike has taken place, in which the oil fields have been bombed. This is scary stuff, we wait to see what the retaliation will be.

Very good news from South Africa,  that scumbag Oscar Pistorius has finally been found guilty of murder, and will be returning to prison. His previous conviction of manslaughter was overturned as the appeal judge ruled it was a flawed verdict. His sentence will only be announced next year but he won't be getting out anytime soon.
