The Past and Future

It was a day off for both of us, but it was always going to be a complex day - even without the launch of Blipfuture (more on that later). We were up early for an excursion in London in the morning, followed by a gig in the evening in Birmingham. Travelling, even on a day off!

London was a trip led by "Hidden London" down to the abandoned Down Street Underground station. It's near Green Park, and has been closed for many years. It was used in WWII as a strategic planning base, and even housed Churchill at times. It was fascinating to hear the history, and walk through the dusty tunnels (where the blip was taken by Chris). But perhaps most fascinating was the fact that during parts of the tour we were separated from the live, running Piccadilly Line by only a (sturdy) wire fence. Torches off, so as not to distract the drivers, and whoooosh! Train hurtles past. Very odd.

The gig in the evening was brilliant too. The headliners were Duran Duran, supported by Seal. Both were fantastic to listen to - such polished performances, and great back catalogues to choose from. We sang loudly along - a great way to relax from a busy day.

So, those were the "past" - now to the "future". Hopefully you've seen on Blip Central, Facebook or by other means the announcement by "Blipfuture". I (Annie) am one of the four main blippers involved in setting it up (alongside Earthdreamer, Cyclops and GrahamColling). We will be posting more information and answers to questions over the next few days, and please take the time to read all of the information available in the FAQs and on the crowd funding site. For the latter, you have to register interest as an investor, but that doesn't commit you to anything at that point. If anything is unclear, the best place to ask a question is on that site. Please bear in mind that as we are selling shares, what we say at this point is heavily regulated by the financial conduct rules, so if we seem to sound a bit impersonal, that's why.

Thank you for the support we've seen so far. All that we ask is people take the time to read the information, ask questions, and make an open choice about what to do. It would be helpful if people could remember there are just the four of us answering the questions at this stage!

Finally, we hope you don't mind, but we'd like to keep this journal separate - and don't intend to discuss Blipfuture in detail here again. The main reason for this is that we love blipping, and we don't want it to become work to come to our own journal. The reason we're taking on this significant challenge is because we love to blip - a term now well known by our family and friends. Please help us to keep the energy for both Blipfuture and our daily blipping.
