South Bay - Kaikoura

A day of walking through bush listening to tui's, bellbirds, wood pigeons and accompanied by fantails twittering around us looking for a meal of insects which we had disturbed as we walked. It was hot in the sun, 17C, a lovely sea breeze cooled us down once we got down to the waterfront. Lots of locals and tourists out and about before the southerly front was due to hit.

This is South Bay which is on the southern side of the peninsula, the side where the whale watch boats leave from. The temperature soon dropped as this weather rolled on through.

I did get up for the sunrise but at 5.40am there wasn't much happening with layer upon layer of cloud along the horizon and the sun was tucked behind the peninsula.

Happy Monday everyone :)
