Stuff

An unexciting day.

Stuff got done. That's good. At this time of year it's all too easy to put the brain in neutral and pray for it all to be over as quickly as possible.

I got a haircut. That meant a bit of a gossip too. The barber is a Raith Rovers fan so he deserves a fair hearing. Every so often his group go for a boozy weekend in Munich to reminisce over Rovers' 1990s encounter with FC Bayern in the Olympic Stadium during one of the European competitions.

They always see a game during their weekend - a break from the beer, I suppose. This time they managed to book the weekend to coincide with FC Bayern playing somewhere else, so they had to make do with a tour of the empty Allianz Arena.

Anyway, I'm back to my normal Dapper Dan appearance in time for the festivities.

I started buying presents. Dr D's eldest wants some Harry Potter in English. She's read them all in German.

I hope I've started the process which could mean a whole bunch of redundant talking books on cassette finding their way from Dundee to Patandi College - near Arusha in Tanzania - where they have a resource centre for lecturers who train specialist teachers to deal with childern with sight loss.

The centre has a bunch of "Walkman" type cassette players which found their way to Patandi from Scotland.

Fingers crossed.
