Nature seeks me out!

I was struggling with the idea of a photograph this afternoon as it is horrible outside and I have such a lot of domestic jobs to do. As I was sorting through some plastic boxes in my study I saw something move! On closer inspection I discovered this lovely ground beetle (Pterostichus madidas?), which must have been in the box for at least two months, since I brought some flints and fossils home in it. I was very grateful that it posed nicely for me. It will now be released.
