William Ransom Christmas Tree

The human alarm clock was up before 7, later than some I know so am counting my blessings. Violin at 09.30 and we are properly on to fingers. Almost a whole theory lesson. To be fair it wasn't his best lesson, but he did do well.

Home to walk back into town in the drizzle. Carys had her feet measured, she is on the cusp of needing new shoes. We will need to go back before next term. We had half an hour to kill so headed for a coffee and some colouring and then it was time for the Choir to sing in the rain Square. They did really well, battling a poor music system and a very noisy wooden bowling alley behind them. I am finally starting to feel festive. After the performance Carys disappeared with N&P for the afternoon. Will and I, with Jim in tow went on a search for a pencil case for Will as the elves have delivered too many 'stationary' items for his current one! We than had lunch before Will and I wandered to the Christmas tree festival as Jim headed home.

This is the William Ransom tree. It is covered in Christmas Trees and Elephants, a slightly odd choice of decoration you may think, but there is a reason. This tree is a celebration of our Deputy Head, who has been at the school for forty years. In that time in the whole school Christmas play her class has usually managed to squeeze in either a Christmas tree or an elephant! Ironically this year will see neither as the class is doing The Great Barrier Reef.

As an aside Will was given a watch today, which he proudly showed to anyone and everyone! He has earned it by being totally proficient at telling the time on an analogue clock and getting pretty good at the 24hr digital clock. I am hoping that the watch will reduce the human talking clock issue that I have at the moment!
