Hydration

Angie didn't emerge last night although she did get up to visit a certain small room several times. This morning found her fast asleep so phoned GP to find out if there was anything I should do.

GP surgery is closed on Wednesdays.Normal here for most GPs to close on one day a week for normal business, plus weekends of course. Most GPs are single doctors, very few "medical center" type surgeries. In fact ours is a father, daughter and recently joined by a 3rd doctor so quite big. One of them was in for another 30 minutes and would take a look at Angie if she managed to get there in time. - if not make sure she gets lots of fluids on board.

Woke Angie who didn't feel up to anything and certainly not getting dressed and going for a drive. So I left her with fresh hot water bottles and lots of fluids and set out in to the rain to do the horses, followed by walking the dogs.

Went to the Bannwalf forest at Ottobeuren for the walk and passed the water pump house which has recently been "done up and landscaped". Well it is in the middle of the forest. In the last week or so they have installed the security measures to ensure the Ottobeuren residents water supply is safe from terrorist attacks with vials of novovirus - a very smart metal gate with electronic key box, metal fencing and floodlighting. I just wonder how ridiculous this is and what a waste of money.

First of all everyone knows the Germans are very law abiding. You simply put up a nice sign saying Entry forbidden, parents are responsible for children. This will prevent 99.9% of all citizens dreaming of putting a foot on the bottom step. The 0.01% is an old age pensioner like me that uses the bottom step to sit down on for a rest.

Secondly nobody goes in the Bannwald except if
a) a dog owner- always nice people
b) a nordic walker- make too much noise to be a danger
c) a convalescent from the towns spa treatment - can't walk up stairs
d) a jogger - only occupied with self-sadomasochistic thoughts.

Finally 99.9& of the area bordering the pump house is wide open for everyone and every deer or squirrel to go in as they feel fit.

Rest of day´bus with animals and occasionally checking on the patient who rightly stayed well put in bed all day EXCEPT for a 10 minute venture to the horse stables when the vet phoned to say she was coming by to change Sultans bandage - I got cross and luckily she quickly disappeared when the vet was gone, saying she felt dreadful. Hopefully that will teach here.

After an 8:00 pm walk in the rain with the dog, then discussed with son J in Sussex about the pros and cons of sparkling wine, schnapps, beer, gluehwein and other associated liquids. For me the Christmas stress is done - various parcels are now all safely at their point of destination in the UK & Eire. the recipients now have the stress associated with the contents - no longer my problem.
