Boat Hull Abstract

13.3C with a dull morning. One or two spots of rain. Clearing in the afternoon with some good bright spells. Moderate breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk after lunch. Stevie Nicks on the Nano (In Your Dreams) and then Fleetwood Mac (Rumours). We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track (very muddy) to the shore road. We crossed over and went down the little private road and over the level crossing on the Easthaven side of the burn and then went down onto the beach. Having seen the burn running high with water recently I wasn't sure we would be able to cross where it runs over the beach and into the sea and sure enough it was far too deep and running fast. Maeve and I turned back and retraced our steps back to the cycle path

We walked along the cycle path and went over the road bridge over the railway and down to the beach at Westhaven. Valhalla A is out of the water and on its trailer up by the skipper's hut. Tom, the skipper of Shamara II, and his son Ben were cleaning creels that have recently come out of the water. Their creel and float storage structure at the back of the beach is fully loaded with gear. Maeve and I had a wander along the beach then came back to the fishermen's huts area to look for Abstract Thursday ideas amongst the boats.

We came back along East Row then crossed back by the road bridge over the railway then carried on round in a long loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home.
