Life's Little Moments

Tensions flare...

It was a quiet morning as dawn broke over the Bistro.  The usual patrons started showing up - the titmice, chickadees, jays, nuthatches, woodpeckers, finches, etc.  All was going well - the buffet line was moving smoothly and other than an accidental and unfortunate pooping incident in the sunflower seeds, the day was off to a splendid start.

Then, suddenly, a rowdy gang of robins showed up - at least 20 strong and bigger than just about everyone else at the bar.  Looks were cast.  Words were exchanged.  Cursing broke out.  And before you could say "happy holidays" robins were careening around the yard in hot pursuit of one another.  Even the blue jays were looking a little nervous.  While the woodpeckers took advantage of the melee to attach themselves to every available suet feeder and the nuthatches started caching seeds in the deck railing.

out-takes from the incident available on Flickr - four starting HERE with a cardinal on finch fight.  No one was exempt from the bad behavior...

Fa la la la la la la la...

In other news:  the bathroom is finished and looks amazing.  I'll post a pic tomorrow.  Cedar planked salmon on the menu for dinner tonight.  And only a handful of sleeps before Christmas...
