Of Toads and Toadstools

We went for a walk round 2 of the many reservoirs in the area today. The most notable feature was how high the water was and how muddy many of the paths. When we weren't slithering around, we saw some fine flora, including honeysuckle, orchids, valerian, yellow rattle and lots of foxgloves, and an impressive array of more than 50 stinkhorns in a 10 meter squared area. Fauna included common sandpipers, baby robins, a blackcap, and my favourite of the day, this lovely little toad, who looked in his element on this wet mossy bank. We had a mixture of light showers and dry spells, even a bit of sunshine, but on the drive home, we had torrential rain and the roads were like rivers! So glad we were under cover before it started!
Our broadband seems to be settling down - hope this isn't famous last words - so I'll try and catch up with everyone asap.
