Gillipaw's Journal

The Jacobite, Glenfinnan Viaduct

The famous steam train was 45 minutes late, but it was worth the wait. An international gathering of at least one hundred at the viewpoint above Loch Shiel. It really is a dramatic "Harry Potter" location.

In between sunshine and torrential downpours we have visited the monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie at Glenfinnan; toured the Ben Nevis Distillery, along the tasting (not to mine); visited Dunstaffnage Castle; eaten fish and chips in Oban; photostop at Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe, and warmly welcomed at a favourite B&B near Inveraray.

There had better be a bit more sunshine tomorrow.
