Shag

Daughter and I went for a brief walk  to the mouth of the estuary this morning. It was warm and sunny and we sat on a seat at the end of the track and talked cameras and photography. She is very knowledgeable about photography as she trained and worked as a Photographic Technician at Victoria University many years ago

There were surprisingly few birds to be seen today. I spotted a solitary shag standing by the waters edge and stalked it until it flew off in disgust. The Blip shows just after it took off. They bounce across the water a bit until they manage to get a bit of height.

I love photographing birds and their behaviour so it is probably fitting my last pic for 2015 is of a bird.

Happy New Year everyone.
