Bridge over troubled water

First of all, thanks so much for your kindness to yesterday's blue eyes!  I shall go and check tomorrow to see if he made it into the New Year with his people, or whether he's ready to a) sit in the Leisure Centre's lost property box, or b) come home with me.

Meanwhile, in today's sunshine I visited my friends the White British bullocks on the marshes.  There were some lovely patches of sun, but it's very wet underfoot and further along the river is pretty well topping the banks.  In one or two places it's starting to leak on the path.  I'm not going to play with you, obviously we don't have the problems you guys further north have, neither are we likely to get into the state we did a couple of years ago, but the rain does seem determined to keep on falling.  Tonight it punched holes in God's bucket and came down wild.

However, like this bullock crossing the bridge from one sodden meadow to the next, let's all hope that we - and blip - scramble successfully forward in 2016
