A triple celebration

Happy New Year! Today we celebrate the new year, my three year's of blipping and our pledge to Blipfoto to continue.

I started blipping 3 years ago never expecting to make it to the end of the month....but it quickly becomes an all consuming habit that has resulted in my photography skills improving, new friendships made of like minded photographers, and the introduction to a wonderful community that we hope will continue into the future. Every Blipper knows how important our daily dose of Blip is, and we would be lost if it had to disappear. Eternal gratitude goes to the four hard working blippers who have decided to try and save Blip, and we can help them by pledging funds to the future of this amazing website - there is nothing else like it, and if it all disappears we will miss it.

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve, starting with having our neighbours to drinks before our family going on to supper at the same restaurant we have been to for the past 11 years. This year they had a one man band who was so good, he played rock, rock n roll and had a voice just like Louis Armstrong. I, who never dances, found myself up on the dance floor - but that was maybe to save Gavin from embarrassment after he found it necessary to get up on the dance floor and do a solo dance to 'You can leave your hat on' including the bit about taking off his shoe!! The boys loved it too, especially when he played their requests for Pink Floyd (Another brick in the the wall) and Deep Purple (Smoke on the water) perfectly! When he played Wonderwall, every English guest in the restaurant was up and singing! It was a great evening and then at midnight we came home and watched the fireworks until about 1am, and so that is my blip for today.

We woke to a winter wonderland with snow everywhere but now the sun has come out and we are going for a walk.

I wish everyone a very happy New Year filled with good health and happiness.
