Kitchen Cove 11.30, 2.1.16

Inspired by  Arachne's  Grandpont Nature park series where she visited the same spot every Monday for a whole year, I think I might try the same for Kitchen Cove, the teeny beach that is just a five minute stroll from where I live, and visit it each saturday at around at around middayish. Whether I manage to keep it up for a whole year is debatable but we'll see. cassegw   in Edinburgh is also doing something similar. Anyway, here it is today looking rather splendid. After the most abyssmal day yesterday where we were all suffering from cabin fever, and after a night of yet more torrential rain, the clouds lifted, the sun came out and it was warm! So good to get out and feel a bit of light. Later we rushed out westwards and did a brisk and muddy yomp around the Funeral Loop: soggy cattle, waterlogged boreens, smooth pebbles shot with quartz, a turquoise sea, a massive Monterey pine, two standing stones and quite a few people also out walking, all smiling and chatty and good humoured in the sunshine.

What an outstanding response to yesterday's PledgeBlipfoto. So many heartfelt write-ups and inspired photographs and the money shot up too. Well, if Blipfoto folds it won't be for lack of trying, 37 pages worth of tributes! I hope that gladdened the hearts of the Fab Four.

And don't forget it's DS11 tomorrow. Maisiebeth is coming to the end of her stint hosting - is any one else interested in doing a four week bash?
