Kokedama......

...or Japanese moss ball. A gift from a friend together with the beautiful glass dish it's resting on. The important thing is not to let it dry out. I hope I can keep it alive. I certainly want to. 

After the morning service and a roast beef dinner, the Christmas tree was undressed and the decorations packed ready to go back into the loft. The holiday is over and it's back to school for INSET tomorrow. The company of friends and family has been enjoyed; others have been missed and thought of often. 

After all the clearing away, my Bird in Boots, who introduced herself on Christmas Day, is trying to decide her best spot to settle....
