Nose to the grindstone

Back to work today! As you can see, Mystère was about as enthusiastic about the prospect as I was. Theoretically we were due back after we got back from the UK on Tuesday, but as there was nothing urgent to deal with we decided to treat ourselves to an extra few days -- much appreciated even if the weather has been lousy. Mystère usually  likes to be in the same room as us, so he spent virtually all day in this position, causing the occasional typo.

Today is the fourth anniversary of my first ever blip, although I haven't reached the magic number of 1460 yet, due to slacking after the first year -- now I average 6 entries a week. 1320 entries and over 265,000 words under the bridge (I waffle on too much apparently, that's considerably more than Arachne has written during the same period!). Naturally I've been thinking lately of what a huge gap in my life Blipfoto would leave if it vanished tomorrow; I've already pledged twice in the hope of saving it. The fund is now just over the 50% mark, but we need more contributors -- most of that has come from a very few blippers.

So a twin appeal: if you want to carry on blipping and you haven't pledged yet, do whatever you can; the minimum amount is just a tenner, and think how much pleasure blipping brings you (if it doesn't, you wouldn't be here). Secondly, if you are reading this and you aren't a blipper, this is a great time to start your own photo a day project. Each individual entry may seem trivial, but it's surprisingly enjoyable to look back and see what you were doing on a particular day, or relive special memories through photos. And your photography skills will definitely improve, even if all you have is a phone. So sign up, post your first photo,  and, if you can, toss a tenner into the pot; you won't regret it.
