Sunshine through woodland

I am so ready for this... Bright blue skies and golden sunshine pour down upon us as we walk along the Little Avon River.

Currently, she is not all that little, the rainfall of recent weeks having made its way to her meandering route down to the mighty Severn. The sun dapples as we make our ways along treacherously slippery muddy trails, and the silver birch copse stands ready for spring. I blipped the cabin in the woods back last March, which still stands in this woodland.

Astonishingly for the first full week of January, we came across a large pink poppy about to burst into flower! I've put it as my first extra of 2016, because for sure it's not going to enjoy the frosts we are predicted to get next week. As Hamlet might have said, "The time is out of joint, Oh confused poppy"!
