It arrived today! It's taken since just after Christmas, when #2 Daughter's camera failed and I handed her my 7D, for me to make up my mind on a replacement.

I can now give The Mate his 7D back and start using the 5D Mkiii. As luck would have it, the external controls are very similar on both cameras. They were so amazingly alike I had to look at the name on the front to make sure it WASN'T a 7D. All that was missing was the built-in flash.

The menus are, however different, to allow for the extra features. I will have to spend some time going through them.

I'm so pleased to be working full-frame on my landscape shots. I hope katkatkat will be very happy with the 7D. I was very delighted to buy it from Annie, 3 years ago.
