Among my collection of coins is this 150 year old bronze One Third Farthing.   Until 1971 when Britain changed to decimalisation the coins were very complicated as there were 240 pennies to a pound and four farthings to a penny.  So there would have been twelve of these to a penny and 2880 to a pound.  Initially the coins were minted for Malta and then from 1866 eight issues until the final £100 worth issued in 1913.
I am not sure what the equivalent buying power would be today and the coin is probably not worth much especially as it is not in good condition.  Compared with a one pence and pound coin of today the coin is tiny.
