Like Red Bull, China gives you wings

To nibble on when you are only 9 months old!

Ours would have had a Bickiepeg (see extra photo) a small finger sized rusk type biscuit made from 90% concrete and 10% rusk. The concrete was there to make it last and of course relieve the pain/wear away the gum. The small rusk content was a token gesture towards flavour. So why bother about flavour when all they want is something to gnaw on? Simple - it made the Bickiepeg  slightly more attractive to chew on than the furniture!

The people at Bickiepeg Inc. really thought this through didn't they.
.
One more difference worthy of note - the Bickiepeg was attached to something via a ribbon passing through a hole in the end of the Bickiepeg so that the child couldn't accidentally swallow it. No such fears in China, they just put their trust in the gods,  fate or whatever.

The UK and China - polar ends of the health and safety spectrum it seems.

P.S. The mention of concrete in a Bickiepeg was of course a joke. They were as everyone knows made from cut down paving slabs.

Out to dinner tonight. Cultivo Lounge again. A treat for Rosina and we've invited Tim because he doesn't get out enough.
