Cedar Waxwing

I spent a delightful morning at the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary with blipper WRPerry.  We saw bluebirds, yellow-rumped warblers, juncos, many deer and gaggles of geese.  My best shot was of this Cedar Waxwing. This was my first encounter with these birds and I must admit, for some reason I expected them to be bigger, so it’s possible I have missed them in the past. They were very high up in the trees, so this is cropped considerably.

I have an early morning flight to a location I have never been before, so I must get packing.
