Ancoats

A site visit this morning to Ancoats.

A planning application under consideration in Salford is similar to a development under construction in Manchester. Modular housing is seen by some as the way to go - that could be a whole blip. For now it is the Extra.

This view looks across the canal towards some of the large mill buildings - the largest complete group surviving anywhere in the UK. The new development is in total contrast - inevitably. On a lovely day like today, it all looks pretty good. And the canals just make it, giving it all a real sense of place.
