Finlay In The Snow

Well we got a tiny sprinkling of snow last night - barely enough to cover the tarmac.

I had a rude awakening this morning (for the second day running) with the smoke alarm going off in the early hours. It does this fairly regularly when the temperature outside drops below freezing and the temperature indoors falls. It is the one nearest the front door that starts and then the upstairs one joins in! Apparently something to do with condensation forming in the sensor.

I turned the heating on 3 a.m. to try and raise the temperature enough to stop it. It worked, but I couldn't sleep because the boiler is in the garage directly below our bedroom and the pump is in the airing cupboard which adjoins our room.

It was cold and foggy when we went out for our walk - I managed to get Finlay to stand still very briefly to get this shot.
