Millerdale in Snow

I wasn't sure we'd made a good decision as I engaged the hill descent control on the car as we descended along a snow covered lane into the Manifold Valley.  A few minutes later it got even hairier as the car started sliding backwards down a hill even with 4-wheel drive.

I shouldn't have worried.  A short while later we pulled into the car park in Alstonefield and set about preparing for a walk in the snow, up Wolfscote Dale and back along Millerdale.  It was a cracking 9 miles of views.  We even had the opportunity for a toboggan down a hill!  I've added a few images on Flickr.
