A SUPERB DAY

weatherwise! A blue sky to admire and enjoy, but when Piet Hein and I walked along the beach, and we went a long way too, in the end my nose was awfully cold and my toes too.
There were lots of gulls there. Some were sitting at the sand, I guess a bit sheltered from the wind, some stood near the water, some were flying and crying out loud, and some floated on the surf.
The sea appeared calm, only one row of rolling waves came towards the shore.

My haiku:

Food is a big theme
The gulls stand dreaming with closed
Eyes, waiting for their food

And the quote by Neil Mc Elroy,  in Look, febr. 1958:

In the space age, man will be able to go around the world in two hours - one hour for flying and the other to get to the airport.
