Timber!!!

During the past few weeks the River Bela, which flows into the Kent Estuary, has been rushing along and breaking its banks on many occasions.

This has clearly been too much for the rootball of this riverside tree so that last week it succumbed to natures assault. A fancy way of saying it fell over.

I missed the best photo for when it first went over its top branches rested on the far bank. By this morning when I was able to get to the site estate workers had removed many branches.

First snowdrops and daffodils open in the village and temperatures continue to be well above normal. Two days ago we had midnight temperature of 14C.
