Maeve the Deerhound

5.7C with heavy rain through the night and all morning. Clearing early afternoon to blue sky. Light breeze.

It was Maeve the Deerhound's annual checkup and boosters at the vet's today. Clean bill of health for heart and weight (33kg) etc, which is a very nice thing when you are a Deerhound and you are ten. Maeve is lighter than this time last year when she was at her heaviest. Not that she was ever fat! Probably all the walking we have been doing over the last year or so to get my weight back to where I wanted it. All good.

Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. Runrig on the Nano (Searchlight and The Stamping Ground). We went down the road to the shore road, where the water was pouring off the field again, then went over the road bridge over the railway to Westhaven beach. The tide was coming in and the sea was calm and blue. We went down onto the beach and stopped to get a few pictures of Maeve. A while since I took a decent portrait shot of her. It seemed like the perfect day to do it.

We carried on along the beach in the direction of Carnoustie then made our way up to the path and walked along the seafront to the golf courses. We went along by the first tee and the eighteenth green on the Championship course, crossed the road by Simpson's golf shop, then went up to the High Street and came back along to rejoin our usual route up the main road and along to home.
