Girdleness Lighthouse

Storm Gertrude graced us with her presence today, arriving early at about 6:30 am and lasting most of the morning with strong winds and some heavy downpours.

I thought if I headed to the Torry coastline (south of the Dee) I would see heavy seas crashing against the breakwaters and the lighthouses at the harbour entrance. Instead I was disappointed as the sea was relatively calm, or appeared so from the shore, as the wind was coming from the South West.

I continued on past the Torry Battery and stopped at the Girdleness Lighthouse for a short walk and a couple of photographs.
