Going, Going ...........

I read during the week that Garnett's Water Tower and Cabinet Works in Warrington Town Centre is to be demolished, probably within weeks. It's owned by a private developer, who has failed to maintain it whilst it has lain empty and derelict for years. It has now got to the stage that it is structurally unsound and dangerous, it seems, so the council will have to pull it down and charge the developer.

It's a real shame. Warrington hasn't got many landmark buildings. This Italianate tower (which reminds me of the medieval ones I've seen in Italy) is one of the very few. So a quick blip before it's gone.
