Sunset at El Rompido

It's been a long day.
650km from east coast to west coast.

This is a shot from our hotel balcony. It's very nice and quiet. We are the only ones staying in the hotel. So no one is around to make scary noises to make dogs bark. The owner seems to have an apartment in the building too. I've seen him come down when we came back from our tryout to buy something to eat. No such luck. The restaurant in the hotel is naturally closed (as we are the only possible customers) and nothing's really open in Spain on Sunday evening. We did visit one little market, but he mainly carried beverages and candy, so at least we got something to drink. We might be wolf-hungry tomorrow morning.

It's only 8 pm and I'm ready to hit the sack. The first stay in our journey where we have separate beds. Which might be a good change since the last bed was so small for us that I always woke up when hubby turned sides.

The little what we saw here while trying to find food and before it got dark this looks like a richer place. Big houses by the sea. Expensive cars. Good for them.

It's also very green here. Very. Clearly getting more rain has it's affects on nature ;-) This is the nations strawberry county. If you look at the picture closely you should see strawberries growing in the dark. They're right there when we look out our window. And this is taken from our balcony.

We are 40 kilometers from Portuguese boarder. This is a 2 stat hotel. Clean, nice enough. Only one who accepts dogs. I'm just glad that even one hotel nearby is pet friendly...

Tomorrow we'll see some houses. These are not in need of repairs. These should be all made up by the previous owners. This location is not as good for one reason that we know of. No direct flights from Helsinki. Flight to Sevilla or Faro might take over 20 hours. And I suppose the final leg would be with a small plane. I'm definitely NOT stepping into one of those! We'll see what happens this week. But at least it's lovely seeing so much green!
