Evening on the river

The sun was going down as I took my trail walk, and the screech owl was catching a few rays in the opening to his nesting hole. I had walked right past without seeing him, but luckily Jeanne, a friend who is a birding enthusiast, stopped me to ask if I got his picture. Then she showed me the best place to capture this shot. So Jeanne gets credit as the blip assistant for this picture. The extra is the picture that gave me the title for today's journal.
