Cruise Ship - The World visits Seattle

In the foreground, the Washington State Ferry "Walla Walla" heads west towards Bainbridge Island, and in the background, tied up at Pier 66 is the resident owned cruise ship, "The World."

"The World" docked in Seattle yesterday for a three day visit. The ship consists of about 100+ privately owned apartments, along with about 80+ guest apartments.

The smallest apartments are priced around a half million dollars, all the way up to about $13.5 million for the largest apartment available.

Keep in mind you still have to pay monthly "home owner" dues to cover crew, fuel, and maintenance. Monthly dues start about $20K per month.

The World circumnavigates the globe once each year, following a route which allows residents to enjoy the best of seasons in all ports where the vessel stops, usually for one to five days.

This is the second time in several years that I have seen the vessel in Seattle.

Ahh yes... what a lifestyle!
