Ruffled Feathers!

Well Imogen sure was gusty! I finally opened the chickens at 11, given that the rain had stopped and we seemed to have hit a lull! The girls had eaten all the apples and were keen to get out and stretch their legs! Once out and having pootled around a little they all headed  for the brambles and stayed pretty much grouped together like penguins do to protect those in the middle from the worst of the weather! They sure didn't like having their feathers ruffled by the gusts of Imogen that had started up again! Dotty found some shelter next to big Alice and promptly closed her eyes. I think she was imagining herself somewhere calm and warm! After about an hour I headed home via the village to look at the  river, it was rushing back towards the sea and looked very muddy! The swans and ducks didn't seem to mind and the Muscovies as usual were on the side, looking watchful!
Later in the afternoon I headed intoTavistock to meet up with Gilesey. The tree that had in the morning  been leaning precariously over the road leading out of the village  had mysteriously disappeared - I imagine one of the locals had been out with their chain saw and now had a nice wood pile!
I found two reduced coats in Whitestuff whilst waiting for Gilesey to close up, and then we headed for the Chinese takeaway! A very pleasant evening was spent eating, catching up, stroking Nibbler and scaring Mr White! All was calm on the drive home and the sky beautifully clear with lovely bright stars. Not a bad day at all!
