The Lozarithm Lens

Caen Hill (Friday 12th February 2016)

Roof repairs continue at Lozarithm Towers and this afternoon I had someone come to quote for treating woodworm in the loft and on the roof, but I then had time to get out of the house, do a spot of shopping and take a stroll beside the canal at the Caen Hill lock flight.

Here are the resident breeding pair at the top of the flight beside the Caen Hill Moorings. I also saw a heron flying up above the flight and off towards Devizes.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Walker Brothers - You're All Around Me (1965)
I'm still finding excellent music from the past that I somehow never got to hear before, and had never heard this until it came on the radio the other day. It comes from the first Walker Brothers album, Take It Easy (in the States it was called Introducing The Walker Brothers). I was always impressed with the Spectorish arrangements on the Walker Brothers singles, but have just discovered that their arranger was the great Jack Nitzsche, who was also Phil Spector's arranger. This song was written by Scott Walker with the singer Lesley Duncan.
