Love Letters

I love to write and find great contentment in penning notes, cards or letters to friends and family for any occasion.

How apt the Mono Monday challenge today was 'Love' on a day when I found myself at my grandmother's house visiting her after a recent turn in poor health. She is now 84 years old and very frail. Today she was rather chatty and we shared a giggle among the much repeated conversation as dementia makes her muddled.

I have long admired this antique correspondence box which sits in the spare room at nan's house. My grandad found this Edwardian box during his time working for a house clearance firm specialising in antique removals. His talent was moving grand pianos and I remember many stories about those times.

My Nan couldn't remember when / where the box appeared only that it did come from a house clearance. The box is labelled with a plaque inscribed 'REC from F.T.F.W 1908-1914'. I have no idea what it means but guess it's the initials of a person giving the box as a gift. I must visit my village antiques shop and show them the photos of the box to uncover more.

I wonder what stories were contained in letters kept in this box in years gone by...it would be a good start for a novel.

Thank you once again to MrsLinda for a great Mono Monday Challenge.
