Oceanarium

oceanarium
ˌəʊʃəˈnɛːrɪəm/
noun
noun: oceanarium; plural noun: oceanaria; plural noun: oceanariums
a large seawater aquarium in which marine animals are kept for study and public entertainment.

Napier has a very good oceanarium  with a moving path that takes you through tunnels with the fish swimming overhead. It is the National Acquarium of New Zealand and holds a wide range of fish and marine creatures. As well, there is a kiwi house, and a Tuatara enclosure. We spent some time there this morning and I would be happy to return. I  particularly  enjoyed the pool for 'rescued' penguins.

Unfortunately it was very dark in there and with no tripod it was a bit of a mission to get clear pictures.

As it is Tiny Tuesday, I have chosen some tiny, brightly coloured tropical fish for a Blip and put a couple more in the extras because they are so delightful. My favourite was the vividly blue fish in my main blip that the children know as 'Dory' from the film 'Finding Nemo'
