Spars

I spent the day trying to cheer up my sister who has put her back out and is helpless. She managed to hobble out to her treatment room for a short while but then left me to take pics of it for publicity material for her complementary therapy business. I think I've got some nice ones with sunlight flooding in.

I had a quick walk from Burnham Yacht Harbour on the way home. It was absolutely freezing. I approached via a mound. I could hear quite a commotion in the distance. As I neared the top of the hill branches of a dead tree came into view. This is on the north bank of the river. A bit higher and spars of cranes which are on the south bank appeared.

A large ship was being unloaded at the Wallasea Baltic Wharf. It has 46 acres of storage facilities, including a treatment plant, and specialises in handling all timber based products. A liner service operates between Riga and Liepaja in Latvia and Parnu in Estonia - and there are also regular shipments from Klaipeda and south Sweden.
