Survivors...

...on Wooler Common. Enjoyed a walk there with MrM and Louie this morning. We tread carefully as, in places, the paths were covered in treacherous compacted ice. But the birds were singing, bulbs are coming up  and it was very good to be out. The scale of damage to the trees caused by the pre-Christmas storm is becoming very apparent, now that the fallen trees and debris are being cleared. Huge piles of fallen branches and separate piles of tree trunks stacked up ready to move.

The first of three days' annual leave from work - no, not for any rest or relaxational purposes, but to catch up on the great heap of paperwork lurking in the spare room (some of it's been there since we moved in to the flat, almost 10 months ago!). And then to start tackling some much-overdue admin. stuff for Small Strings. Oh joy!

Distracted from the task in hand this afternoon when the new washing machine arrived - hooray! It's been in action already.

MrM went down to Newcastle for a music session this evening - a chance for me to catch up on the new X Files...
